Phoenix Communication Solutions recently completed a comprehensive low-voltage cabling and network infrastructure installation for Microchip Technology Inc.’s new office and warehouse facility. The project included high-performance CAT6 structured cabling, strategically placed wireless access points, and surveillance camera installations to provide reliable connectivity and enhanced security throughout the facility. Designed to support both current operations and future expansion, the new infrastructure delivers dependable network performance across office workspaces, warehouse operations, wireless communications, and security systems. Our team worked closely with Microchip Technology throughout the project to deliver a clean, efficient, and scalable solution tailored to the technology demands of their new facility.
One of the primary challenges of this project involved adapting to several changes in the contractor’s floor plans and the planned pathways for our data cabling. The original design called for standard EMT conduit from each data location to above the ceiling; however, following a redesign of the furniture layout, the client transitioned to an integrated raceway system for both data cabling and power. This change required longer cable runs than originally anticipated. Fortunately, PCS installation standards include properly planned service loops and additional cable slack, allowing our team to successfully adapt the existing runs to the new pathways. While the redesign required additional labor and coordination, our proactive installation practices helped avoid the cost and disruption of replacing the existing cable runs.
80+ CAT6 cable runs, wireless access point installations, surveillance cameras installations, MDF buildout including an open frame CPI 20U wall mounted cabinet, sleeve kits and plywood backboard mounting.
